Still feelin' good

So I replied to the email sent by Emily (she's the contact at the school in China) and told her that I'll accept the offer. The contract lasts from September 15th till June 30th. The pay is pretty great and everything else seems to be just as great. So, I have lots of paperwork and stuff to do but I'll have to find a way to get through it all. Right now my main focus is renn faire but I'll still have to keep this very near on the back burner. I don't want to be ready to go and then find out that I don't have all the right paperwork or something.
Emily also sent me a step by step on the procedure (which is really awesome) so that I know what to do and when, and if I had any other questions I could ask her at anytime.
Now as far as renn faire goes, things are moving along very nicely. We are meeting some of the most awesome people and having a marvalous time too. This weekend is going to be filled with so much fun and yes, debauchery. Anyway, I'm not going to be able to update the blog over this long weekend but I can gaurantee you that I will have a very big update for you on Tuesday.

So everyone have a great long weekend and drink a shot for me!

Peace, love and soul Tanny

I'm feeling good

Ok, so the answers came back and they look awesome. Everything that I was expecting is what they are going to give me. The only one problem I have is that I can have guests visit me but I can't have any overnighters. It kinda sucks but at the same time I understand. All of the teachers are all living in the same building. And I get to have solo accommodations. This is really an awesome thing because I would hate to share my place with a stranger. One, never really wanted a roommate, number two, why would I want to? Maybe we might end up being friends but at the same time we could just hate each other and never get along. That would be shitty.
So I have made, maybe one of the biggest decisions of my life (besides who I marry, which aint gonna be anytime soon, the way I'm going) and I have decided to take the contract.

I am going to actually take the contract.

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, I'm going to take the fucking contract!

I can't believe it but I'm going to China.

I'm actually fucking going to China!

So now that I've had a moment. I would love to say thank you to all of my awesome friends (especially my best gal Tricia-Leigh) for being so happily supportive of me.

I've just hit the iceberg of this great adventure and I can't wait to tell y'all all about. So these next few weeks are gonna be super busy for me. What with me working at renn faire, working at CT and Wendy's (maybe) and then getting my stuff ready for CHINA! I'd be lucky if I got a chance to sleep or even sleep around.
Need a few more "rolls in the hay" before I go. Ok so now that I've bore all to you and some of you thinking that was more than i needed to know, I feel really awesome.
So, I'm gonna take that contract and I'm really happy about it. Contract needs me to be there on Sept 15 and that's my day to work for. That's the day I'm gonna leave.
So hold on folks, it's gonna be a bumpy ride. Bumpy and fun............. just like my motherland!

Looks like I'm gonna have to make some lemonade

Ok, if you've been paying attention you would have known that I had the placement service through Oxford working for me. Well, it's a good thing I also went looking on my own. I have this offer that I'm thinking about from a school in Hubei province and I haven't heard from the contact at the placement service. I sent the proposal to my placement advisor to get her opinion and she thinks it's good for a first time teacher but still haven't heard from her contact. I'm seriously considering taking that contract from the school in Hubei, I've just sent them a few questions that I'm waiting to be answered before I tell them what I want to do, but all I gotta say is that it's a good thing I didn't wait around for Oxford. Time is ticking away and if I didn't have this back up plan I would still be waiting.
I need to have as many things as possible set up as early as possible so that I'm not scrambling for things when it's almost time for me to go. So there is a very good chance that I will take this offer I've been provided. For now it suits my needs and if they give me satisfactory answers for my questions I asked, I will take it.
So that's my dilio!
Blah blah blah wuza wuza wuza (<---- I got that from Krusty the Clown)
Take care

Work, work, work.

Well I've been at work at CT for training yesterday and today. The training is done online (my ex-Percepta co-workers would think of it similar to NetG) which is good because then you are assured that you are provided with the exact same info and training that has been provided to all other members of staff. The only thing is......it's boring as hell. I'm sitting in this office, staring at the computer screen. I can hear people walking by behind me and doors opening and closing and phones ringing and not to mention the PA system every 30 seconds paging somebody somewhere. On several occasions, I've fallen asleep in front of that computer. Anyway, can't really complain, I am getting paid for the time. Actually, this has a double bonus, with me going to work like this, the week practically flies by. It's already Tuesday night and I'm glad because that means that the next weekend of renn faire is coming up soon. I'm so looking forward to this weekend, for many many reasons but most of all for the fun and laughs and the time I'll be spending with my friends.
I'm really gonna miss everyone.
Anyway, don't want to get emotional yet......but I do have good news.
I've just saved a bunch of money on my insurance by switching to Gieco.
Just kidding but I really do have good news. The offer that I am considering taking has a contract that starts in September and ends in June. If that's the case, then I can be back in time for renn faire next year as well. I'll be coming back just in time for a few rehearsals (which isn't super necessary since I'm a street act) meet new cast members and get the general plot and then we open again. Actually it's a pretty sweet deal. It's like....... China with a splash of old England, and in both cases I'll be making money.
So that's the deal for right now.

Opening weekend!!

The past is no behind us we have to look forward.

Having said that, I miss the old site because it came to be a bit of a second home but this new site is the beginning of new things, new traditions, new friendships and new debauchery. The opening weekend of the new renn faire admittedly was a little rough but we pulled it off and it was fantastic. For anyone who has been there before, take the old site out of your mind and be prepared for days filled with the same fun and laughter.
If you are planning on coming there, I can guarantee a day of enjoyment! I just wanted to keep everyone up to date on the fun I had this weekend and to let you know that you can have some fun to, if you come out to the royal abingdon faire (www.ontariorenaissancefaire.ca).

Some of you may know that I sometimes wear interesting hats. The place where I get my hats are at Retro G which is a booth at renn faire and previously at renn fest. You will notice that I have a link for her site and then on her site you can see some of the hats and find out how you can purchase. If she is not at a show, she sells on eBay. So unless you come to the ROYAL ABINGDON FAIRE (www.ontariorenaissancefaire.ca) you won't be able to get anything now but if you can't make the faire, then you can purchase on eBay in the fall.

Anyway I feel that I should mention that............. you have to come to the faire (www.ontariorenaissancefaire.ca) even if it's just for cheap beer and a trip to the mother land. Anyway, that's enough shameless "shelf" promotion. I would love to provide you with more details, however, I am very exhausted. It takes some time to get back into the renn faire rhythm. Anything else happens, you'd be sure to know.

When it rains, it bloody well pours.

Ok, so sitting at home today. My mom tells me there's a message on the phone for me. Go to check. It's Wendy's! The manager wants to offer me a job. Go figure. She is even willing to work around the fact that I have a job already. I am at a loss for words.
She apologized for not getting back to me sooner and I told her that I took this job because I hadn't heard from her. She understood and I guess that's why she's willing to work with me.
If I have a fixed schedule at CT, then it would make things easier with Wendy's, if not, then I can tell her the days I'm available and she'll schedule accordingly. The woman just hired me over the phone. I didn't fill out an application at that location, nor did I give her a resume. She's going basically on my word and the fact that the girl at the other location referred me. So after I finish my training at 5pm at CT, I go to Wendy's to fill out paperwork and get a new uniform ordered.
This is the strangest week of my life. Other than working at renn faire and having a full time job, I have never really worked 2 jobs at the same time. So now I will have 2 uniforms, 2 schedules and best of all.............. 2 PAYCHECKS!!!
Good thing about working at Wendy's, I'll just have to get back into rhythm. CT will be harder because I have to learn a whole new thing.
The hardest part of this all is the fact that I now have 2 employers to disappoint when September comes. I feel really bad because both these employers are making exceptions for me. One allowing me to not work weekends and the other the same and the fact that I may have a fluctuating schedule. Weird huh?
My reason for leaving is gonna have to be big.

things are beginning to happen

Well, it seems as though whenever things pick up for me, they really pick up for me. Everything seems to happen all at once. Anyway, I don't know if I mentioned this before but I have the placement service through Oxford and I indicated that I would have rather work with them as they are a more trusted source, than me going on my own. Going on my own has the disadvantage of not having any background on the school etc. Anyway, I still had an online service that I used on my own to find work. Oxford told me that I should hear from their Chinese contact before the end of the week. I haven't heard a thing. I have, however, heard from the online service. There is a school that is interested in me and they have even provided me with the email addresses of two esl teachers currently working their to contact. I could email them and make sure that this school is on the up and up (well there's my background work covered). Only thing I have to make sure of is that I get a good and fair contract and that they actually follow through on it.

On the flip side, I still have CT on the horizon. I have nothing to do with them at the present but I'm probably going to be exhausted on Monday after the opening weekend at renn faire.

Speaking of renn faire. Went to a rehearsal yesterday. Saw the chess match rehearsal. I'll reserve comment.
But on a good note, renn faire is only one more sleep away. I'm very excited to get things started. We figured that it was in our best interest that we spend the night on site on Saturday. Going back and forth to Hamilton is such an incredible chore. So now (as you may have already guessed) Saturday nights are going to be filled with all sorts of naughty behavior. The word that comes to mind...... DEBAUCHERY!!
Anyway, I have to pack so many things and get lots of things prepared. So with me being gone over the weekend, don't expect any posts until maybe Sunday night or even Monday morning, BEFORE I GO TO WORK! (I just like saying that now)
As usual, me keeps you posted!

This just in

So I had my orientation today. As usual, many forms to fill out and sign. Got the once over of the store and met some people, including the store manager. Instead of doing side by side training, they have this thing called e-learning. As the name suggests, you do it online. After this is completed, then you go on the floor and learn some more. There were 2 other guys that were in the same orientation as myself. One will be working in hardware, the other in sports-seasonal. With myself being on cash, I sort of have to know a little bit about everything.
Once the guys complete their e-learning, then they report to their manager and go from there. Same goes for me, but once again, being on cash, there are alot more things that I need to know. How to work the POS system, where to cash out and all that good stuff.
I got my Canadian Tire (hereafter known as CT) shirt, in addition to my notepad, 2 pens, a set of keys and I should get a name tag soon.
I was allowed to schedule my own e-learning time (which is a total of 15 hours) so I'll be doing that next week. I wanted to get that asap so that I can start working asap. Atleast I'll be getting paid for the time that I come in for the e-learning. I could do it at home but I won't be paid for the time.
So thankfully, things are moving along. Once I get past all the formalities, I'll get into the flow of working and I'll feel much better.

EXTRA, EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!

Well as I mentioned yesterday I had the interview with Canadian Tire and it went well. I wasn't really expecting to hear anything from them any time soon, if at all. So I'm around the house today, pulling things out and trying to get myself organized for China and the phone rings. It's Canadian Tire and they want to offer me a job. The way she figured (which is what I thought as well) it is better to hire me now so that I'm in the flow of working so that when the kids go back to school, I'm fully versed in the company and I could just continue working as normal and they don't have to scramble to hire and train me. This makes much sense.
So I go in tomorrow for orientation and I guess then I'll get my schedule.
So I'm back to work. I've reached the light at the end of the tunnel and the sun is shining. The dark clouds are gone and things are finally looking up. Thank you to all who have supported me and have tried to keep my spirits up. I know I have been unbearably down but thanks for sticking.

On the flip side of the coin, there is an agency called abroadchina.org and you can post an online resume and schools that visit the site can contact you for interviews etc. I contacted a company that has schools all over Hubei province in China and they currently have 46 openings for teachers in that area.
They have already contacted me for consideration and asked me to send some info to them in addition to my ideas on how I plan on teaching and stuff. So that has been sent off and I hope to hear something from someone soon. Even though I've applied through this site I'd still prefer to go through the placement service that Oxford offers. Atleast then I have full confidence in them and know that if there is ever a problem (which isn't anticipated) I can call Oxford for help.

So that's the big news.

Well as usual, I'll keep you posted

A small scoop but a scoop nonetheless

Well I had my interview today, and it went.......well. The girl seemed very pleasant and I think I made a good impression. The only problem is, positions aren't going to open up till end of August. This helps me how? Even if they do take me on at the end of August, there is still time that would be necessary for training and all that, that is not time working. I suppose if nothing happens and they do offer me a job, then I'll take it. But this is also dependent on when my contract starts. If I have a contract that requires me to start soon after Labour day then there is no point, however if there is a contract that starts end of September then I'd consider taking the job. I don't know, I'm still undecided.
I was hoping that getting an interview would get my foot in the door and I could start working by mid next week or something but, I guess not.
Speaking of my contract, everything has been sent in and I should be hearing from the contact in China before the end of the week. So hopefully I'll be getting some good news soon. After I get a contract solidified I would have a better idea of how to plan my things. I want to have a gathering or a party prior to my leaving so that I can have some time with friends before I go.
Right now, even with all the crap I'm going through, I'm still looking forward to renn fest starting.
Actually I have to get it out of my mind that it's not really called renn fest anymore and the town is no longer Trillingham. It is now called the Royal Abingdon Renaissance Faire and the town is Abingdon. So I guess I can call it renn faire instead. Anyway, I know there are a few of you who have been wondering about it and have been looking forward to coming out. If you visit www.ontariorenaissancefaire.ca you get the scoop on the faire, directions on how to get there and all the good stuff to offer. I should let you know that things will be different from how it has been in the past (for anyone who has visited before). We are at the Royal Botanical Gardens' (RBG) Aboretum. At the Aboretum itself there is little to no parking for visitors but at the RBG there is much parking and a double decker shuttle bus between RBG and the Aboretum. Only down side is that you gotta pay for parking. It's not much but it does suck a little. But I should let you know as well that if you do come to visit us, it will definitely be worth it, especially for guys. Trips to the mother land are always free and if you don't know what they are, come on down and find out. You won't regret it! (<--- hint, hint, shameless self promotion)
Anyway, like I said, I should be hearing from the contact in China soon and hopefully that means that I'll have a job in a Chinese school in September.

As usual, I will keep you posted,

When you are at the lowest of the low, the only way to go is up.

Well I had just about given up on finding a job. I really felt like there was no hope for me. Well, I finally got the call. I have an interview with Canadian Tire tomorrow. It is at the location that is closer to me, so that's really good because it will take me about 5 mins to get there.
Anyway, wish me luck, I hope I get the job and I seriously hope they don't have a problem with me not being available for weekends. I got my fingers and toes crossed. I'll let you know how it goes.

If time flies when you're having fun, imagine how it feels when you're not

Well, I still haven't gotten a job yet. I'm trying to see what I can do. Anyway, I do have some good news. I've received my contract from the renn fest and things are looking good. I don't want to discuss exact figures but it is better than last year. Now, that'll help me for the summer but I still need some cash now. Do you think I can have a fund-raiser or a benefit or something? Is there anyway that people would sponsor a benefit for some chick that lives at home with her mom?

I feel like George Costanza.

Serenity now!! I need serenity up the ying yang baby!!

Well I guess that's it for now. As usual I'll keep you posted. Take care and keep me in mind as I continue my job search.

This suckity suck sucks

Ok, so I have tried everything possible to get a job and it is just not working. I applied at almost every Wendy's in town and not a single one of them have called or was even to entertain my application. It's like I have the plague or something. Do you think that they have some policy against not re-hiring people? You would think that they would jump at the chance of taking someone on who was a supervisor. You would have to know that you don't have to waste a lot of time training me. I even mentioned that to one of the managers, that I wouldn't require very much training. She replied with "well you know that many things have changed since then". What has changed bitch?! Do you guys make latex now? You still making hamburgers, heck I know, I still eat there. You don't make pitas anymore, so I don't have to retain that info. What else.....? The sauce has changed on the grill chicken but how hard is that to remember? So basically I've given up on Wendy's. There was a Canadian Tire that I saw was hiring and I applied but I'm not gonna keep my hopes up. I gave them the resume on Monday and I haven't heard anything back yet. There is another one near my house where there is a guy that my mom knows. She talked to him and I gave him my resume, so we'll see what happens. Anyway, I'm gonna try to see if there are any other jobs that might be available. I don't know who reads these blogs anymore but if there is anyone out there reading and you know a place or a person or anything or anywhere I could get a job, even if it's part time or fast food or something, please leave a comment with the details.

The trip continues

This is at Ruby Falls (if any of you have been paying attention, you would know that I went there and had a fabulous time) This is one of the underground rock formations. This one felt like glass and it had a translucent look to it as well. To refresh your memory Ruby falls itself is a 145 foot waterfall located just under 300 feet of Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN.
This was another area with rock formations. This was pretty cool, literally. It was about 60 degrees farenheit under there.
Yet another area we were walking through. I had to add this pic though because you get a great shot of my fine ass. BTW, the lady and the guy in front of me had 2 annoying children that we were forced to follow the entire way to the falls. The son (not seen in pic) kept singing this annoying song and the daughter (held by the father) kept crying. On our way back out, we ditched them so that we could follow some other, less annoying people.
These were some other natural rock formations. They actually looked like steak and potatoes. It is amazing how nature can sometimes imitate life and I guess in some cases vice versa. There were other areas where rock formations looked like other things but they didn't come out very well in the pics.
This is one of my favourite pics! If you've ever travelled through the states, (by bus or car) you'll know that they have rest areas. A place where you could get out, stretch your legs, all that good stuff. In most cases, upon freshly entering a state, within a mile or 2 of the state line, there is a welcome center that is also a rest area. They would have bathrooms and vending machines and an area where you can let your pets out (on a leash of course) so that they too can stretch their legs. We stopped at this particular rest area just after entering Ohio. I'm glad to know that the state of Ohio knows how to spell excercise. Take a good look at the sign. The thing about it is, someone, tried to spell check the sign with lipstick, but they too got the spelling wrong. They crossed out the first 'c' and then tried to indicate that a 'c' belonged between the 'r' and the 'i'. While this is correct, crossing out the first 'c' (as we are all aware) is incorrect. The sign actually reads "PET EXCERISE AREA".

Anyway, that's my trip. I hope you enjoyed the pics. Tomorrow, I'll get you up to date on my job search progress.

My trip to New Orleans part 2

That's my mom in the middle with the orange shirt. This is on the way to the Riverbank. There is a sort of boardwalk that has shops and restaurants and it is also where you can get the river boats like the aforementioned Natchez. It's really nice out there and we were there around sunsent so it was really very nice.
This is me on Bourbon St. It was a rainy day so that sucked a little but the rain is not something that slows the city down. They go about their business anyway. This is in the heart of the French Quarter and is all one way streets. The roads are very narrow but when you look up on the balconies, you can see left over beads from the Mardi Gras. As I have mentioned before, I gotta go to New Orleans for the Mardi Gras.
This is outside of a restaurant called "The Court of Two Sisters". It's pretty much the only and best buffet restaurant in New Orleans. The food was awesome! Some of you may be aware that New Orleans has a lot of history and so does this restaurant (the name says all). Anyway, these gates that I'm standing in front of, were blessed by......somebody, I don't remember who and the sign on the gate says that anyone who touches the gates, would be blessed as well. I'm lucky I didn't burn up!
That long thing in the background is the Mississippi bridge. We had to cross that everyday from our hotel, just outside of New Orleans to the city. It made things interesting and fun. Only thing is, the signs in the city are not what we are used to. In Toronto, there are enough signs before and at your exit/highway entrance so that there are no mistakes. In New Orleans, there may be one sign telling you where the entrance is coming up but none at the actual entrance, so sometimes you could miss the entrance if you're not paying attention.
This is once again downtown New Orleans, the French Quarter. Here you get a better shot of how narrow the streets are and you can see the balconies that people hang out at during Mardi Gras. The people in New Orleans are so awesome and warm. They are always very friendly and you could practically start a conversation with anyone at anytime. If you could get out there, I highly recommend it, you'll have a great time.

Tomorrow, general pics from my trip

Yeah, there's still a few more.

My trip to New Orleans part 1

That there in the distance is downtown New Orleans. Sorry the pic is taken from the bus but when you are on the Mississippi bridge, there's nowhere to stop to take a pic and that's the only place you could get a shot like this. The business district of New Orleans is not that big and the buildings are not very tall. I suppose the reason is that the city is below sea level, so they can't dig very deep to give a sky scraper a solid foundation.
This is me on the banks of the Mississippi river. The boat behind me is called the Natchez. It is the oldest and only steamboat in New Orleans or the country I think. It also has a pipe organ that when played can be heard for miles. It was playing while we were in the french quarter (4-5 blocks away) and we swore that there were speakers in town that was playing the music. It sounded that close and almost felt like surround sound. It wasn't till we got to the riverbank, we saw that the pipe organ was being played. It was really amazing!
This is the bridge that crosses Lake Pontchartrain. It is the longest bridge in the world actually. There are some points where it feels like you are actually driving on water. When we were first getting into New Orleans city it was raining and at that time, with the bridge being wet, it really seemed like driving on water. There are also parts of the bridge that are raised to allow boats to pass underneath and that is a little scary. As you can see on the right, the railing (or whatever you want to call it) is not very high, maybe 3 feet or so. But it is truly an awesome view.
Well, visiting New Orleans we had to go to Emeril's restaurant. In fact it was one of our biggest motivators. I'm a big fan of his, so I had to go there. If you're wondering, my mom isn't wearing anything on her head, that's part of the decoration on the door behind us. The restaurant was very well decorated and they were extremely professional and very customer motivated. The service was top notch and the food was above excellent. I had the duck and that was some good meat. I've seen him actually do the receipe for the duck on his show, I had no idea it would taste that amazing. I just let the meat slide down my throat hole and it was fucking awesome!
PS, don't I look kinda sexy?
Once again, another pic of downtown taken from the car. I thought it was so beautiful to see the sunset through the buildings, so I had to take the shot and now I'm sharing it with you.

Tomorrow, my trip to New Orleans, part 2.

Yes, there is more.

my trip to the bayou

This pic was taken while on the boat. Alligators come right up to it. The captain throws marshmellows and the gators go right for it. The gators are all over the place. This one is about medium sized.
This is the cypress tree that is covered in spanish moss (the geyish brown stuff hanging from it). The spanish moss is almost like a parasite and grows all over and on the cypress tree. Just about all of the cypress trees have the spanish moss all over them.
This is one of my favourite shots. When you look down the way, it's all wooded and swampy, it's almost peaceful. The picture really only tells half the story. Being there is a completely different thing.
This was really cool. The captain referred to it as "fishing". He had a chicken leg (thigh and all) on a string. He dipped it in the water and the gators almost came out of nowhere. When one of them took a bite, he just pulled it out of the water. This was a medium sized gator, almost small. He held on for dear life, that is until he fell in.....with a big splash.
This was a little lesson that was taught before we got on the boat. They actually take the time to teach you about the animals that live in the bayou and how the bayou is a source of livelihood for many people. The gator he is holding is 3 months old. I actually got to touch it. It felt almost the way I expected it to. It was a fiesty little fella after a while but it was cool because it was the first time I ever pet a gator.
There are so many animals that live in and off of the bayou. There are many people who have a job because of the bayou. Most of the people who do swamp and bayoutours, do it for fun. They have real jobs working the bayou. Mostly gator hunting and then every part of the gator is used for something. A lot of it for tourist souveniers etc.

pay no attention to the man behind the curtain

Ignore that post that says 'me'. I made a mistake when trying to post my pic. Tomorrow I will have pics from my trip to New Orleans and Chattanooga.
Stay tuned...
Me Posted by Picasa

just so that you can see

I just learned how to put pics on my blog, so it figures that my first pic would be something near and dear to my heart. I know it's cheesy but here are my 2 kids, Willow and Thorn. Soon I will fill you in with pics of my trip to New Orleans and Chattanooga.

The damage is done

Ok, so I've done it.
I have sent in my resume, cover letter and picture to the placement service. So the next thing will be to hear back from them on a location that they have found for me. Just a few more steps away.
I feel anxious, nervous and excited. This is the complete opposite of me and what I do. Anyway, I hope that when I return, I come back a better me. A more informed me and a more experienced me. I have a friend in Japan right now and I can see absolute growth in him. Right now he's getting ready to come back and 'wow' the stories he'll be telling. I look at him and think "that's gonna be me in a year or so". It is a very exciting time.
So hopefully soon I'll be telling you about my placement, the contract I signed and soon after that I'll be telling you about my plane ride and then what I'm actually doing in China.
I've planned for long for this and it almost seems to be happening so quickly. I finished the class in a blink of an eye. I have the placement service working for me now. Actually I could look on my own but why bother if someone else is doing it, especially if they are doing it for free. If, and only if, they take a long time or it looks like they may not get something then I'll look on my own but hopefully it doesn't get to that point.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I still haven't heard anything from any Wendy's. The girl who seemed to be so helpful at the other Wendy's turned out to not be helpful at all. She told me to call her the next day and she would call the manager from the other store and then call me right back.
That was day before yesterday.
I waited.
I'm still waiting.
Anyway, I went to the location she was talking about yesterday, introduced myself and told the manager what I could do for them. She took my info but I ain't gonna hold my breath.
I'm gonna try two other Wendy's locations and if I still come up empty handed then I'll have to resort to something else. I don't know what yet but I will, as usual, keep you informed.

BTW

By the way, Happy 4th of July to all our American friends and a belated Happy Canada day to our friends here at home. (sorry I forgot to put a posting on Friday)
Love you all!! :-)

.....but there's a different breed of bitch out there

Any and everyone who knows me, knows that I'm a bitch. In fact, there are alot of you, who when you first met me believed that I was a pure bitch, but it has been confirmed to me that there is a different breed of bitch out there.
I'm usually a bitch at first meeting because I've been hurt by a lot of people who claimed to be my friends and then took advantage of me and left laughing. As you know, once you get to know me, you find out that I'm a good person with lots of laughs and all that good stuff (atleast I hope that's what you're thinking). Anyway, I was on my job hunt today. I went to the Wendy's near my house and was not received very well. The manager, some short ass bitch, tells me that their not hiring right now but maybe she'll call me in a couple months.
Yeah, that'll help me alot.
Anyway, I tell her that since she's not hiring now then there is no point in her keeping my resume.
She practically throws it back at me and says that I can do whatever I want. In my head I just said a big "fuck you" but I told her she can keep it if she wants but if she calls me in 2 months or so, I ain't gonna be able to help her. She says that she'll keep the application but I ain't holding my breath.
A different breed of bitch.
I went to another Wendy's and was well received there, especially when I told her that I was a supervisor at another location. The supervisor there said that she'll give my application to the manager and also said that there was another location that was needing help. She offered to call them but didn't get through. She did tell me however to call her tomorrow and follow up. So that looks good. This other location is a little bit away but atleast I'll be working.
Anyway, even though that looked good, I still went to the mall to see if I could get a job there. Just about all of the stores were looking for help in the evenings and weekends or days and weekends. Unfortunately my renn faire commitment won't allow me to work weekends elsewhere. So any job at the mall is pretty much out.
Now, alot of the places I went to, said that if I wanted I could still submit a resume. I told them that I wouldn't bother because I don't want to waste anyone's time, knowing fully well that I can't work weekends. Everyone seemed helpful except for one place. Le Chateau.
This girl made me realize why I didn't shop there. Now I know what you're thinking, "if you don't shop there, why do you want to work there?" but desperate times call for desperate measures. This girl was a different breed of bitch.
I get there and I say "I noticed that you had a 'now hiring' sign. What type of hours are you looking for?
She gives me this look, like "oh my God, I can't believe that you just walked in here" then she says "well we just hired a few sales associates and we have to see how they work out and see how the schedule is before we can determine where we need someone. We don't know what kind of hours we need if we need anything"
Then I say "so then you're really not hiring?"
She says "No, no, we just have to see the schedule and see where we need people"
I was like "whatever" and left. If you didn't want a fat black girl working at your store, then just lie and say "we need someone for evening and weekends" and if I gave you my resume, throw it out and never call. Is that so hard? People do it all he time.
But no...
This pussy of a bitch gives me a load of crap. Whaddup with dat?
A different breed of bitch.
Anyway, so I'm hoping I get that job at the other Wendy's. If not, then I may have to resort to some other type of fast food job as that's the only thing I can commit to.
So the job hunt continues and I hope that I can get a job doing something. I seriously need the cash, in addition to the fact that I need to get out of my house. I'm getting cabin fever or something. I feel like I'm on disability again. Those were not fun times.
Anyway, this blog is long enough and I don't want to depress anyone anymore.

moving right along, now

I got a reply from Oxford about my placement. They sent me an email letting me know what I had to have in order to get my placement started. I have to go to Walmart or somewhere to get some pics taken so that I can add it to my TESL resume. I'll try to see if I can get that done today so that I can get this started ASAP.
Also, I'm gonna go to the Wendy's today to see if I can get a job there. I really have my fingers crssed for this. Don't ask me why I'm so nervous, they hired me the first time, why won't they do it again? I guess I'm in fear of them thinking I may be "over-qualified" and not wanting to take me. Well, if I don't do this I'm really fucked so I have to. I guess if I don't get the job there (which would be really pathetic), I can try to get a job at the mall.
Either way, I need a low commitment job with little responsibility. I'm thinking Wendy's because I used to work there and am familiar with how the work. It would take very little training on my part and their's. Working somewhere else would require too much thinking on my part and I really can't spare the brain power right now.
As usual I'll keep you posted. So two big things on today's agenda, and not one of them a hard cock. Gee, I must really be growing up but I guess that last line just disproved that theory.
