My bags are packed...

So I finally finished my packing. I tried to go as light as possible with my clothes since summer things won't be worn for too long. My winter things are all in my room in China and it'll be cold soon. Most of the things I carried were some of the necessities that I miss so much. I think I managed ok.
Well this is it boys and girls. I leave tomorrow morning. I wasn't able to say bye to everyone I wanted to, but there was so many people and so many goodbyes that I was only able to say goodbye to a few. For my other friends that I wasn't able to say bye to, please accept my apologizes. I will miss you nonetheless.
So, in a few short hours, I'll be on a plane and many long hours after that, I'll be in China. More tales to tell, more adventures, more parties and more fun. I look forward to it all.
Tisha in China...? Yep, soon enough.

You can't make me go

Crying 1 Ok fine, I know I have to go. I have no choice. I've made a commitment and so on but I gotta be honest. I'm not 100% on whether or not I want to go. I spoke to Gary on MSN last night. He's still in China and he's really looking forward to me coming back so that we can party again. I guess it won't be all bad going back to China but I know that I'll probably miss everyone ten times as much as I missed them before. The advantage is atleast now I know what I'm getting into. I like that alot. Other plus... I'm looking at a shorter sentence, I mean shorter contract. I think I'll be ok. I just hope the whole operation going on here doesn't fall apart like it did the last time. Anyway, I'm gonna start a bit of packing today but won't actually complete my packing until Saturday. Today I have to do some shopping to pick up some essentials to take back to China.
I'll keep you posted on how things go.

Bye frying pan...hello fire

Well this weekend was insanely busy. Good thing is that I got to see many people that I hadn't seen since last year, in some cases it had been 2 years. I told my tale of China about 47 million times but it was well worth it. Besides I had never known I would miss these other friends of my life as much as I did. Most of these people I only see every year in the summer anyway. The same amount of time had passed since the last time I saw them but for some reason it felt like I hadn't seen them in years. A bonus for me is that there was a unanimous feeling from everyone that I had changed for the better and I have to say that I feel it too. I know I have, and every day I feel better about being me.
In other news, I finally got my ticket today. Actually it just arrived by express mail courier about 10 minutes ago. Everything is in order and I feel better having that thing in my hand. My flight leaves at 8:50am on Sunday Aug 27th. In a small way I'm looking forward to it but in so many other ways I'm dreading it. I feel like I might be forgotten all over again. The best thing about going back is now that I know I can do 10 months, 5 months should be a piece of cake. Heck it's at the 6 month mark that you start getting tired and I won't even get to that point. I have a great trip to look forward to with my mom and possibly my dad in January. I have friends waiting for me in China. I have 135 amazing children that love and adore me. I work at a school that for the most part treats me fairly and I live an almost fantasy life partying every weekend. So I guess there's a big part of me that's looking forward to this since there are so many positives. Regardless, I'll be missing home, friends, family...... everything.
I'll try to keep postings as regular as possible before I go.

My days are numbered

Well I've started to get my head in gear for getting back to China. I've emailed Mr Ye and told him when my plane is arriving and he's assured me that he'll be there to pick me up. I haven't exactly started packing but I have a mental list of what I want to take with me. I have so little time to see friends and family before I go, some of whom I haven't seen since I got back. While I am on vacation, it's not all umbrella drinks and late night parties. Not having any money nor a source of income makes it difficult for me to do much of anything. I guess I've made the best of the situation and living at home does help, but there are times that I wish I could just hop in my car and go somewhere and do something. Not having my car (since I loaned it to my uncle till I get back) and not really knowing where I'd like to go or what I'd like to do, leaves me in the same position I'm in now I guess.
In any event, I'll be on a plane in less than 2 weeks. I'm going to be seeing some friends and family this week. I'll be seeing some more friends this weekend and then next week I'll be packing to hit the skies again. I know once I get back to China I'll be counting the days till I get home but in going to China, I have another little adventure to go through.
We have a one week holiday in October and I'm hoping to go to Dali, which is a city in western China and then in January my mother wants to come again so that we can go to Thailand (specifically Bangkok) and Hong Kong. If we can get my dad's paperwork done in time, we want to get him to come as well. I think that that would be an excellent trip. Globe trotting with my parents. Then when we get back to Wuhan, my dad can see my chinese life for a few days. Mom and I have already started making tentative plans and she's working on booking her vacation. When I get back to China, I'll start doing my work and checking airfares and best times to start making reservations. Since that time in January is right around Chinese new year time, it will be very busy and prices would probably be higher than they should be. I know for almost sure that my mom would make it, the only question mark would lie with my dad but he knows I want this and he feels the same way too. If he doesn't make it, it's because it just wasn't meant to be.
Anyway, not much else has been going on but once I get closer to D-day, I'll probably have more details. Heck, I'm still waiting on my ticket to arrive.

More news from China

So I get this email from Russell. He felt the need to let us know that when we got back, we would have to move out right away. I was thinking "Yeah, I don't need you to tell me what to do. I know what I have to do. I was actually provided the info directly from my boss." But I think I was thinking that because I was in a bitchy mood. Anyway, he did manage to provide some actual news. The sisters. The infamous live-in-one-room-like-hermit-crabs sisters sent an email to Mr Ye. It would seem that they were not very happy with their situation in China and emailed Mr Ye to say that they were going to cancel their contract and not return to China.

Well needless to say, none of us are at all surprised.

Yeah we knew that was coming almost from the word "go". Now the school is really up shit creek. They have to fill 7 teacher positions. My friend Chris that works in Hankou is desperately trying to get out of his school and frankly speaking I think he should have left a long time ago. They work him ragged there and he has really shitty hours. I tried to get him into my school before but Mr Ye gave me the run around in his oh so unique Chinese way and never contacted him. If by the time school starts they are still desperate for teachers, I think I can pass Chris' name over and they would probably (at that time) jump at the chance. I believe the school may have a very difficult time getting seven teachers. They have hard enough times getting 1 or 2.
In any event, I have been running around all day and I seem to not really get anything done. What I'm trying to say is that the past few weeks I've been busy. I should be getting my ticket soon and very shortly I'll have to start packing. I'm happy to be home since I've been spending quite a bit of time with my friends, especially my best friend. It feels like we get closer and closer everytime we talk.
Anyway, I just wanted to get you caught up.
Any other details will be posted accordingly.

Trip to Vegas......finally.

Well you had to know that things weren't going to be dull once our cab got stopped by a taxi cop and the cab driver almost got a ticket. Officer Rico was to die for and was extremely funny. So funny to the point that he gave the cab driver an actual slap on the wrist. Tricia and I were in tears of laughter.
Other points of interest. The Golden Nugget was truly amazing but we soon came to find out that Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps apparently goes to bed at 10pm and to a further extent maybe even 2am. We walked forever to find a place to have dinner but everywhere was either closed or weren't taking any more customers. We finally found a place but they couldn't get us out of there fast enough saying "we're gonna be closing soon"
Anyway, the next day we wanted to go to the strip and noticed that Vegas is this very strange place during the day. It's like an actual town where people live and work. There are no bright lights and everything seems normal. Hard to believe I know. Anyway, we took a bus on the strip which was simple enough and walked around from casino to casino. Saw some points of interest, took some pictures and generally had a good day. Our next step was to walk through the literal desert to get to The Palms hotel so that we could go to Hart & Huntington tattoo shop and get tatts done. Tricia was able to get hers but seeing as I haven't had to worry about carrying ID with me for the past 10 months, I forgot to bring mine with and couldn't get my tatt done that day. We promised to be back. Tricia's artist was James and was a great guy with a good sense of humor, plus the work he did on her was fantastic. In addition to that, we did some celeb worship and both got our pictures taken with Dizzle, whom we both have a huge crush on. Before I was able to take the pictures, I had to find batteries. We did some shopping earlier at Fredrick’s of Hollywood where we got some amazing under things. I somehow carelessly threw the batteries in this shopping bag and finding them required me to toss everything out of the bag. My panties hit the floor. James, being the cool guy that he was didn't mind. In fact, his response after my embarrassment was "Aw, that's ok. I don't get a lot of panties in my booth" Now I'm going to have to have a t-shirt made that says "My panties dropped at Hart & Huntingtons" The thing that made the Dizzle pictures even more fun, for each of us, he had a different look. For Tricia, he looked like they were a happy little couple smiling for the camera and for me he had this pout thing going like "we're buds but if she'll let me, I'd fuck her" We spent most of our day looking at these pictures and most of the trip as well. Mmmmm drizzle some Dizzle on me!

Now we were hoping that with it being July 4th holiday, that the entire town would be a buzz of excitement all night. We were so very wrong. In the evening we got back to our room and hung out for a bit, but time slipped from us and it was 1am. We didn't want to go anywhere by that time, but we figured we should and ultimately dragged ourselves out of the room. By the time we got ready, it was almost 2 am. We figured things should still be going on in "the city that never sleeps" but when we got outside, everything was dead. This city does in fact go to sleep. Earlier in the day, we were told about the night club Tryst at The Wynn hotel that played hip hop and house. We get there and there's a sign that says that they only open Thursday to Saturday. We were hoping with the holiday that there would still be a party but no. No such luck. Anyway very disappointed and bummed we walked to the next hotel which happened to be The Venetian. We got to the bar and started to order drinks. We met the most awesome bartender. His name was Russell and was giving me black russians in several variations. We were having a blast. Plus he was super funny and kept things lively. A few minutes after that, we met Jason. He was fun. He came back to our hotel and had even more drinks with him. Earlier that same day, Tricia and I saw a sign that said something to the affect of a morning special and that you should ask your bartender for details. We thought to ourselves, "Who would do that? What kind of a freak would be drinking in the morning?" Well that "who" was us. That "freak" was us. Anyway, we spent quite a bit of time there and finally parted ways from Jason at 8:30am.
We never thought we would hear from him again but he did manage to call. So the next morning, no wait scratch that, the next afternoon when we finally woke up, we had a mission planned. We were going to meet Jason at our hotel later that night to hang out some more but first we had many things on our list of things to do. We had to do some souvenir shopping, see more sites, get to H&H, maybe see the Treasure Island show and get back to our hotel to pack. After lunch everything was according to plan. We went to the Bonanza (a place that claims to be the largest gift &souvenir shop in the world), we saw the Luxor, MGM Grand and some more Nevada desert. Then we headed over to H&H and this is where we hit a snag. We got there and found out that we had to wait 4-5 hours to get my tatt done. The day before, James told Tricia that that day was a slow day and we had a hard time believing that. She got in in about a half hour and we thought that the shop looked busy. On this day we now saw the difference. Anyway, the girl told me to come back in an hour and she would have a better idea of what kind of time I was looking at. We went to the bar and came back at a quarter to 9. At this point she told me to come back at 10:30 and it might be another 1-2 hour wait from then. We were both a little confused on what to do. We knew we had to meet Jason later but we also knew we had to get packed but at the same time we knew that we had to be back at 10:30 exactly and were praying that we wouldn’t have to wait that extra 1-2 hours. Anyway, we figured that our time would be more productive going back to the hotel to pack as opposed to waiting there and then we would be assured to meet Jason and tell him what we were doing and possibly bring him back with us to the Palms if necessary. We got back to the hotel around 9:15 and were on a packing frenzy. We got the call from Jason around 10pm, met him in the lobby and dragged him with us to the Palms. We got there at 10:30 on the dot and I was in a chair in about half an hour. John did my tattoo and it looks awesome. It’s my tramp stamp at the small of my back and the best city to get it in, the wonderful Las Vegas. Tricia got a picture with Joey whom she just adores and I got to drool over Dizzle one last time. Although, while I was getting my tatt done I was a bit pissed because some bitch that wasn’t me got to have a make out kiss with Dizzle and I could have killed her. Anyway, once tatts were done and pictures were taken, we couldn’t find our new friend Jason anywhere. We searched the entire casino floor and food court and nothing. We went back to the tattoo shop thinking he might come back that way, and still nothing. While we waited, Joey came out passing us on his way. Tricia freaked because he smiled and waved at her and then he was off to another part of the casino. On his way back taking the same path, he bumped into one of the chairs at the slot machines we were sitting at. Without skipping a beat I told Tricia that he was so distracted by seeing her that he couldn’t even walk straight. It was an ongoing joke that we laughed at for the entire rest of our trip. Anyway, we gave one last look around for Jason and decided to leave in our newly bummed state. Besides money was starting to run low, so we got a cab to The Bellagio, stopped to take some pictures and then headed over to wait for our bus.
So we stood there waiting for our bus, and then we waited some more and we continued to wait even more. And then when we thought we couldn’t wait anymore, we did in fact wait some more. For the whole trip we never had to wait a minute for a bus, but it was at this low point we had to wait over 45 mins. When the bus finally came, it was full and we swore up and down that if we weren’t on it, we would go completely postal. We managed to get on the bus, but it was the longest ride ever and everything and everyone annoyed us. On our way home we thought an amazing banana cream pie from our hotel restaurant would cheer us up, but when we got there, we found that while they were open, they didn’t serve pie at that time.
We went to our rooms very bummed. I guess we both had the hope against hope that we might have heard something from Jason at 4am but we slept the entire night with no phone call. We figured after seeing him that afternoon that he was super tired and just went home. A few days later we got an email from him confirming that that is exactly what happened. Due to countless nights of non stop partying, he was simply exhausted and just went home and did say anything for fear that we would make him stay or beg him to join us to party some more. We got up on our departure morning and took an overview of our trip. We had some high points and some low points but the good outweighed the bad by far and we ultimately had an amazing time. Even on the flight back to PA we had a fun time. We got the bitchiest flight attendant of all time. Now, he wasn’t bitchy to us but to everyone else he gave super sass. Tricia and I immediately fell in love with him and his no nonsense attitude. He had us in stitches in the aisle.
We had such an amazing time on this trip that we’re gonna make the Vegas trip a yearly thing, staying at different hotel each time. Our next place to stay is The Venetian and we’ll be hitting Vegas up on a Wednesday to Sunday trip to ensure we get the best of everything. Maybe I’ll see you there.

I know it's been a while

I'm currently working on the Vegas trip because I do want to eventually get it out there but nothing much else has been going on. I've been spending alot of time vegging out and that feels pretty good. I still have a few people to visit and I'm not sure how that's going to work out since my time is getting limited and so is my cash. I do have my ticket purchased to get me back to China. I leave on Aug 27th and am due to arrive on Aug 28th.
I have heard from Mr Ye though. He said that they are changing the frathouse to another set of offices and they are moving us to apartments on or near the campus of the branch school. I may not have mentioned it before but our school has a branch/second location located about 20-30 mins away from the main school. This works out nicely because I'll have my own space but I hope they keep us in or around the same area or floor or whatever so that we can still hang out together they way we did before. When I get back, I have to prepare to move the rest of my stuff out. Mr Ye sent me an email saying that they could move my stuff for me and keep it safe somewhere. I was like, "No dice" Nobody enters my room when I'm not there. Especially when it means going through my drawers etc. I left alot of things in my room because I intended on coming back there. Anyway, long story short. They will leave my room and I have to move as soon as I get there and just before school starts. I guess the good news is that I know in advance and they just didn't spring it on me just after I got off the plane or something. Also, in addition to teaching at the main school, I will also be teaching at the branch school. I still don't know what grade it will be and I am hoping that I get paid good extra cash for any extra classes I may be teaching. Also, I'm gonna be looking for extra work in the evening and weekends if I can.
Anyway, soon I'm gonna have to start preparing for my return and in many ways I don't want to go but have no real choice now. I'm having the hardest time getting internet to my laptop, so that has been keeping me busy but for the most part, I just really enjoy hanging out with my friends. Anyway, I hope to have Vegas up here soon. It's alot of info and alot of details to re-type. Prepare for a long read once I do get it up.
